Jordan Tour

Richly blessed with breathtaking and mysterious sights, ancient caravan trails and fascinating ruins of bygone civilisations, it’s easy to see why Jordan remains a romantic adventurer’s dream. With the timeless splendour of the Dead Sea and an interior that is as diverse as it is dramatic, Jordan is the perfect destination to experience archaeological treasures.

The country also boasts some of the region’s most luxurious and modern resorts and their soothing spa’s utilise the natural healing powers of the Dead Sea’s rich black mud and the high salt and mineral content of the water, to the most rejuvenating of effects, the perfect way to relax after a day of exploration. The epic film “Lawrence of Arabia” was filmed entirely on location in the spectacular desert and mountain landscapes of Wadi Rum, while legendary cultural attractions include the awe-inspiring 2,000 year-old city of Petra and the Roman ruins at Jerash.

Out and About
Our tour has been specially designed to give you an unforgettable taste of many of Jordan’s most famous attractions. Here are a few highlights.

• The carefully preserved and impressive Roman ruins of Jerash include a Roman amphitheatre, two immense temples and an oval forum, where displays of chariot racing and gladiatorial contests take you back to days gone by.

• Find time to have a soothing and healing Dead Sea Mud Wrap or Dead Sea Salt Body Scrub at Kempinski Hotel Ishtar’s heavenly spa, with its whirlpools, saunas and steam rooms on the shores of the Dead Sea.

• Marvel at Petra, a unique ancient city carved into dazzling rose-red sheer rock and only accessible through a narrow, hidden gorge to dramatic effect; truly spectacular and one of the Middle East’s must see sights.

• Watch the shifting colours of the sand in Wadi Rum, a series of desert valleys punctuated by rocky outcrops, with a thrilling 4x4 adventure - you really will feel like you have stepped into a film shoot, with photographic opportunities in abundance.

• Explore the fascinating city of Aqaba, rich in history and also a watersports haven with superb beaches.

Food and Drink
It is possible to find virtually every type of international cuisine in the restaurants of Jordan’s cities, however it’s well worth trying the local dishes as they are truly delicious. Baba ghanouj (roasted aubergine dip) is a traditional way to start dinner and the Bedouin speciality mansaf (wonderfully spiced and tender lamb in yoghurt sauce on rice) is an absolute treat. The national favourite musakhan (roast chicken with onions and pine nuts) is also not to be missed and can be followed with the local sweet qahwa coffee, which is enjoyed everywhere and is actually very refreshing. Locals also like to wash down their meals with fiery raki, an aniseed liquor, but if this is not to your taste you’ll find most bars and restaurants offer a wide range of the most popular brands of beers, spirits, wines and soft drinks.
