Caribtours

If we cannot tempt you to the Indian Ocean, Arabia or North Africa this year, why not seek solitude under a palm tree, bury your toes in white sand or enjoy a tipple of rum in the Caribbean with Caribtours.

Seychelles

With over 100 beautiful tropical islands in the archipelago, it's hardly surprising that the Seychelles is so popular for a 'get-away-from-it-all' holiday.

With a fantastic year round climate, magnificent beaches, picture-perfect lagoons and luxury resorts, the Seychelles has long been a favourite amongst honeymooners and romantics. We think there are few better holiday destinations on earth if you’re looking for real peace and tranquillity.

Out and About
Island-Hopping
One of the joys of visiting the Seychelles is discovering the diverse geography, character and history of each island. Island-hopping is a great way to do this and we recommend taking in Cousin Island, a beautiful nature reserve and home to some of the Seychelles’ rarest birds, and Praslin’s Vallée De Mai, known as the original Garden of Eden.

La Digue
Easily accessible from Mahé, Sainte Anne or Praslin, La Digue is a quintessential island paradise best explored by bicycle, the mode of transport favoured by many locals. Enjoy a tour of the fascinating old vanilla and cinnamon plantation at L'Union Estate, meet its giant tortoise residents, and then head to Anse Source d'Argent, considered one of the best beaches in the world.

Snorkelling and Diving
The Seychelles is famous for its crystal clear waters and the depths surrounding Coco Island are often referred to as a ‘living aquarium’ due to the plethora of tropical fish found here. Another premier dive site, and our favourite, is Shark Bank off Mahé, where heading into the serene waters will reveal whitetip reef sharks and eagle rays.

Food and Drink
Creole cuisine is an exciting blend of French, Indian and Oriental flavours and nuances, and we love Chez Plume on Mahé for its inspired menu of fresh seafood and local flavours, which are both authentic and contemporary. The islands also offer a fantastic variety of world cuisines and we particularly like La Scala and Le Corsaire on Mahé for their divine international and Italian dishes, and Le Mont Fleuri at Sainte Anne Resort & Spa with its stunning setting and fantastic views over the treetops and beyond.

Getting There
Flying time from the UK is approximately 12 hours 30 minutes via Abu Dhabi or Doha and 13 hours 10 minutes via Dubai.

Etihad Airways Departures from Heathrow daily via Abu Dhabi.
Qatar Airways Departures from Heathrow 5 times a week Jan – March and daily from April onwards via Doha.
Emirates Departures from Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle and Glasgow daily via Dubai.

From Mahé there is easy access to Praslin, with the 15 minute flight operating up to 15 times per day, and for Denis Island the 30 minute flight operates once daily. Sainte Anne Island is a 10 minute boat transfer and Silhouette Island is a 30 minute boat transfer or 15 minute helicopter flight from Mahé.

When to go

Festival Kreol

Festival Kreol in October is the main cultural event in the Seychelles’ year and is an annual celebration of Creole culture through music, dance, arts, crafts and the food of the islands. Centered on Mahé and Praslin there is a real party atmosphere with street performances, fashion shows and entertainment throughout the night.
