Caribtours

If we cannot tempt you to the Indian Ocean, Arabia or North Africa this year, why not seek solitude under a palm tree, bury your toes in white sand or enjoy a tipple of rum in the Caribbean with Caribtours.

Abu Dhabi

Hospitality and traditional values await in abundance in this extraordinarily successful city, which has fully embraced the modern world whilst remaining true to its ancient culture and customs.

Abu Dhabi city is set on an island bathed in glorious sunshine and surrounded by the beautifully clear, warm waters of the Persian Gulf and here you’ll find some of the most magnificent resorts in the world. Exploring further you can immerse yourself in all the romance and adventure of ‘old Arabia’ and experience unsurpassed luxury in the largest uninterrupted sand desert in the world, relax on tranquil beaches and enjoy vibrant cafés and restaurants, shopping malls and bustling souks.

Out and About
Stroll the Corniche
Starting from the old town, near the Hilton Hotel, the Corniche is an 8 kilometre stretch of manicured seafront which includes children’s play areas, separate cycle and pedestrian pathways, cafés, restaurants and the Corniche beach, and is perfect for an evening stroll.

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque
Opened in 2007, this is truly a spectacular sight. A fusion of Arab, Mughal and Moorish architecture, it is the 8th largest mosque in the world and has the capacity to hold 41,000 worshippers. Public tours are 3 times a day Saturday - Thursday and also on Friday afternoons. We recommend taking the sunset tour, as it’s the perfect time to take photos, and it’s cooler.

Drinks at Emirates Palace
Visit the luxurious and iconic Emirates Palace and we’re sure you’ll be impressed by its grandeur, with gold, pearls and crystals dominating the interior. You can’t just stroll in, so we suggest going for a glass of bubbly at Caviar Bar, before having dinner at Hakkasan - reservations are essential.

Explore the islands
Abu Dhabi is home to over 200 natural islands, and with a short 7 minute drive from the centre you can be on Saadiyat Island, where its original ‘guests’, hawksbill turtles, nest on the sweeping beachfront every year. If it’s entertainment you’re after head over to Yas Island, home to the Yas Marina Circuit and host of the annual F1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Food and Drink
Reflecting every taste and culture under the sun, in Abu Dhabi you can enjoy a veritable feast of the finest cuisines. The restaurants in our featured resorts are all superb, but we particularly recommend the award-winning Chinese dishes of Michelin-starred Hakkasan at Emirates Palace. If your tastes are a little more European, Bord Eau at Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri offers superb modern French cuisine in an authentic and elegant setting, and Marco Pierre White extends his flair and expertise to Fairmont Bab Al Bahr with a diverse menu of classic English fare and exciting grill cuisine at the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse & Grill.
