Desroches Island Resort

There's something very adventure-like about approaching a tiny desert island by light aircraft.
And that’s how you’ll reach Desroches Island, a 30 minute flight from Mahé airport. The island is only five kilometres in length, is generously clothed in coconut palms and casuarinas and forms part of a stunning coral lagoon. The resort is the only hotel on the island with just 20 Junior Suites, ensuring great privacy and tranquillity.

Location 30 minute flight from Mahé airport.

Facilities Set amidst such a coral wonderland, snorkelling and scuba diving are a must and are available from the PADI diving centre. There are 14 classified dive sites in the area, including the awe-inspiring ‘Desroches Drop’. Other watersports include sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and big game fishing. Marlin and dog-tooth tuna are often caught here. On land there’s a large pool, children’s pool, floodlit tennis court, boules, a health and beauty salon, TV and video lounge. A lovely touch is the way bicycles are provided to all guests to enable you to ride through the forest and on to secluded beaches along the island’s 14 kilometres of beautiful coastline. The main poolside restaurant serves a wonderful fusion of Creole and European dishes, or you can enjoy barbecue grills and cocktails on the beach as the sunset paints yet another masterpiece across the sky.
