What We Think

The resort's villas are rustic in style and are all built over the lagoon. Beautifully crafted in a traditional style from natural materials, they offer roof-top and over-water sundecks, open-air bathrooms and sumptuous daybeds. For ultimate privacy choose one of the seven Crusoe Residences which are only accessible by personal boat.

Soneva Gili by Six Senses

If your life is usually lived in the fast lane, you’ll enjoy the 20 minute speedboat ride from the airport to this tiny coral island on the North Malé Atoll.

At the Soneva Gili Resort & Six Senses Spa in the Maldives expect your world to slow to an altogether gentler pace where peace and harmony reign from the moment you step from the boat.

Facilities Relaxation and pampering are the order of the day at this resort and there’s a large main pool and the superb Six Senses Spa. For the active, there’s a PADI diving school, sailing, windsurfing, and floodlit tennis. You’ll find the hideaway atmosphere extends to your own villa, built over the lagoon and effectively a mini island in itself. We think you’ll love the privacy, as well as the fun of every day becoming something of an adventure. All the villas are extremely luxurious, with terrace balconies, private sundecks, satellite TV and all modern amenities. It’s well worth considering an upgrade to include your own Spa Suite with two treatments a day. Or choose one of the Crusoe Residences where you can feel happily marooned, with only a private boat to reach the main jetty. There’s also a 1,400 square metre Private Reserve, a two-storey water villa which offers the ultimate privacy and luxury.
