I liked the option here of having either a suite located on the beach side or an overwater suite with tranquil views across the huge inland lagoon - a haven for tropical bird watchers. Well established and a Grand Dame of Mauritius hotels, Le Prince Maurice is perfect for honeymooners or couples seeking a romantic getaway and also for families; the Kids Club is almost a hotel in itself! Dinner at the stunning candlelit floating restaurant Le Barachois is a must, serving delicious fresh seafood and a fine selection of wines.

Constance Le Prince Maurice

Something of a legend, many holidaymakers consider Constance Le Prince Maurice to be in a league of its own. We think you'll agree.

Location It only takes an hour to reach the resort from the airport, yet you’ll feel you are far away in another world.

Facilities There’s plenty to do in and around the resort with a large pool, plunge pool, tennis, squash, gym, boutiques, sauna, Jacuzzi, steambath and children’s club. You can also use the two championship golf courses at the nearby Belle Mare Plage Resort. Be prepared for some excellent snorkelling and diving, while a range of other watersports are also available.

Be sure to let the expert masseurs in the Guerlain Spa indulge you with their wonderfully relaxing and rejuvenating treatments. Dining is nothing short of superb, with two bars and a selection of dining venues, including Le Barachois, a unique ‘floating’ restaurant. Now you’ll know what living in a Palace is really like.

Accommodation

All 89 suites are exceptionally furnished and either set by the beach, in the gardens or built on stilts over the lagoon. Wood, stone and thatch have been used to create a natural atmosphere, combined with modern amenities such as TV and DVD players. The Senior Suites are well worth considering as you’ll get your own private pool, courtyard and sunken alfresco bath.
