Located in Guía de Isora in the south west of Tenerife in the Canary Islands, Ritz-Carlton, Abama (formerly ABAMA) is a tranquil oasis surrounded by lush, tropical vegetation. From its clifftop vantage point the resort commands impressive views across the Atlantic Ocean towards the island of La Gomera and the terracotta-coloured, Moorish-style architecture surrounded by banana trees makes for a striking look to this unique hotel.
The facilities certainly match the views with no less than two Michelin-starred restaurants (experimental M.B. with two and Japanese fusion Kabuki with one) as well as 11 other bars and restaurants. There is also a state-of-the-art spa, tennis academy, golf course and, with seven swimming pools to choose from, you’ll have to make sure you make time to visit the beach.
Accommodation ranges from Deluxe Rooms, through a variety of one-bed suite options to the opulent two-bedroom Ritz-Carlton Suite with a choice of views over the resort, golf course and ocean and many having extra bed options for children.
The Ritz Kids kids’ club covers a huge (300sqm) area and offers interactive learning, sport, theatre, arts and crafts and play from 10am to midnight to children aged 4-12 years. Please note that a supplement is charged after 6pm. There’s also a children’s pool here and children under four may use the facility if accompanied by an adult.
