Black Tie Dinner On Board
Fine dining is a principal part of your experience on board and Executive French Chef, Christian Bodiguel, is a master at creating exceptional menus for guests to indulge in. The dress code at dinner is strictly black-tie and evening dresses, resulting in the most spectacular celebratory atmosphere, where guests socialise and enjoy the glamorous occasion of a journey on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express. Pre-dinner drinks are enjoyed at Bar Car ‘3674’ with its pianist playing the baby grand, and dinner is served in one of the three restaurant cars; The Cote d’Azur is an art-deco carriage with stunning Lalique glass panelling, Etoile du Nord is adorned with wood panelling and emerald colours, and L’Orientale is an Asian-themed carriage with black lacquer panelling and red seating.
Overnight In Your Luxury Cabin
Whilst you are dining, your banquette seating in your cabin will be turned down by your cabin steward as an upper and lower bed, with crisp danmask sheets and fine blankets, contributing to a cosy night on board. Each cabin is characterful and authentic, with wooden panelling, twinned bunks, vanity sinks and personal slippers, dressing gowns and writing desks for each guest. There are no showers in the cabins, but with just one night on board and a classic wash basin and amenity kit in each room for refreshing, this isn’t a problem. Every cabin has a steward available to assist 24/7 with anything you should wish for, and they will serve you a delicious breakfast in bed as you wake up having travelled to an entirely new region.
